Cecil E. Paine, 78, of Tremont died Thursday, Sept. 21, 1995, at Hopedale Nursing Home.
Born Jan. 4, 1917, in Dillon Township, Tazewell County, to James William and Nellie Thompson Paine, he married Betty Huette on Dec. 10, 1954, in Tremont. She survives.
Also surviving are four sisters, Verla Goss, Velda Whitney and Mary Gardner, all of Pekin, and Hazel Brandt of East Peoria; and one brother, Harold W. of Mason City, Iowa.
Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
He worked for R.A. Cullinan & Sons Construction Co. in Tremont as an operating engineer for 36 years, retiring in 1980.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
