Mrs. Melvina C. LaPean, 82, of Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc, died early Sunday morning, June 15, 1986 at the Home. Funeral services will be 9:30 am Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Gerald Prusakowski O.F.M. and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. LaPean, nee Melvina C. Gordon, was born March 10, 1904 at Waterville, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Thomas and Grace Benton Gordon. She married Frank S. LaPean on July 25, 1922 at Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The couple lived in Durand, Wisconsin, until 1926 when they moved to Two Rivers, living there until June, 1962 when they moved to Manitowoc. Mr. LaPean preceded her in death on November 10, 1962. Mrs. LaPean was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Frank R. and Marlene LaPean of Manitowoc; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Frances Rowe of Waukegan, Illinois, mary M. and Harold G. Radant of Manitowoc, Grace Rousse of Sheboygan and Ruth and Lloyd Gosz of Manitowoc; five brothers and three sisters-in-law, William Gordon of Two Rivers, Donald and Rose Gordon of Two Rivers, George Gordon of Westfield, Wisconsin, Samuel and LaVerne Gordon of Manitowoc and Burton and Dorothy Gordon of Manitowoc; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Eleanore Buschmann of Manitowoc and Dorothy and Clarence Kust of Kellnersville; 18 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, George Rose and Merlin Rousse and a grandson, David Radandt.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 pm to 9 pm Tuesday where a Eagles Auxiliary service will be at 7 pm and a memorial service will be at 7:30 pm.
