Donald M. Leitner, age 79, of 2316 Mero St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening, April 17, 1996, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 1996, at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Rrv. Roman Zbieranski O.F.M. with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born August 29, 1916, in Birchwood, Wis., son of the late Matthew and Ellen Stevens Leitner. He married the former Violet Louise Jacquart February 27, 1937, at St. Lukes Catholic Church, Two Rivers. She preceded him in death May 13, 1990. Donald served as a veteran with the United States Army and was a member of the Amvets Post #99. He was employed with Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry for many years until his retirement in 1980.
Survivors include four sons and three daughters-in-law, Donald and Sally Leitner, Stoughton, WIs., Mathew Leitner, Manitowoc, Daniel and Jane Leitner, Acton, Calif., Steven and Katherine Leitner, Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Stephen Ebert, Manitowoc, Louise and Daniel Lesperance, Shawano, Wis.; one sister, Leone Thiry, Manitowoc; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; niece, nephews, other relaties and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by one son, Neil, two great-grandchildren, and a brother-in-law, John Thiry.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home Friday evening from 5-9 p.m. where a prayer service will be held at 8:30 p.m. by Father Roman.
