Marie T. Lewis, age 90, formerly of 819 S. 20th St., Manitowoc, died Friday, Jan. 11, 2002 at Harmony House East, of Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2002 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Roman Zbieranski O.F.M. with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born Sept. 4, 1911, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Louis and Rose Pasternaski Handl. On Oct. 20, 1951, she married Vernon Lewis in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on April 24, 1979. Marie worked for the Mirro Co. for many years, retiring in 1974. She was a member of the Senior Citizens of Manitowoc and an active volunteer at St. Vincent De Paul Society until two years ago.
Survivors include a twin sister, Bernice McCarthy, Manitowoc; a daughter-in-law, Kay Boone, Colorado Springs, Colo.; four grandchildren, Robert Lee Boone, Union City, Calif., Esther Rose Boone, Memphis, Tenn., Jesse (Patricia) Boone, Longmont, Colo., Pamela (Steven)Seibert, Memphis, Tenn. ; one great grandson, Shelton Segrest; one step great grandson, Daniel; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by a son, Virgil Boone on July 23, 1996; four brothers, Louis Jr., Walter, Andrew and Lester; two sisters, Margaret Meindl and Catherine Benthein.
The family will greet friends and relatives at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc from 11 a.m. Wednesday until the time of service at 12 noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc.
Marie enjoyed bingo, puzzles and was an avid collector of angel figurines.
