"OBITUARY.
Lucretia Williams the daughter of Caesar and Jane Williams was born Feb. 5, 1839 and departed this life 8: 00 p. m., Thursday, Sept. 4, 1913, aged 74 years, 6 months and 29 days.
In 1845 Caesar Williams moved with hls family from Jasper county, near Concord (better known as Landes) in Crawford county, Illinois. Here Aunt Lucretia grew to womanhood and married Wilson Brownfield in 1859. To this union nine children were born namely: Laura E. Gebhardt of Nashville, Tenn.; Margaret E. Spencer of Robinson; Effie J. Stoltz, Oblong; Sherman T.; Beatrice A.; John R.; William H.; and Samuel C. of Chauncey, of which all survive except Beatrice A., and Sherman T., who have long preceded the mother to the home beyond.
Wilson died Dec. 1, 1878. Two years later Aunt Lucretia was again united in marriage to David Buser, to this union one child was born, Mrs. Della R. Bryant of Flat Rock.
Early in life Aunt Lucretia united with the Christian church and remained a devout and consistent Christian until death. Altho her suffering was great, she bore it all with patience.
In addition to the children and grandchildren, Aunt Lucretia leaves one sister, Mary E. Petty, of Sumner, Ill., and many other and friends that mourn her departure.
Funeral services were conducted from the home Saturday, Sept. 6, by Rev. J. Jackson. Interment was made in the Keplinger cemetery, near Chauncey."
