She was born April 1, 1918, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Julius and Cecelia Osesek Wergin. Gladys was a graduate ofManitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1936. On Oct. 4, 1941, she married James W. Mach at St. Mary Catholic Church,Manitowoc. He preceded her in death Jan. 24, 1999. Gladys was a member of the St. Theresa Society of St. Andrew Catholic Church, the Catholic Women’s club and the Daughters of Isabella. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi,Manitowoc.
Survivors include a daughter: Beverly Pump, Franklin; a son and daughter-in-law: Rick and Ann Mach, Sioux City, Iowa; four grandchildren: Julie (Michael) Willmann, Big Bend; Nicolette Bautista, Sacramento, Calif.; Sarah Mach and Chad Mach, Sioux City, Iowa; two great-grandchildren: Heather Willmann, Big Bend; Keegen Mach, Sioux City, Iowa; and a brother-in-law: Al Behrendt, Two Rivers. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Carrie Mach, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Viola and Richard Cherney, Eva and Lester Mach, Grace and Henry Leonowicz, Florence Langer Behrendt and Harry Langer.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church onGrand Avenue, Manitowoc from 9:30 a.m.Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, until the time of service at 10:30 a.m.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m.Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Grand Avenue,Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Jame Massart with burial at Calvary Cemetery,Manitowoc.
