Elmer P. Machia, 49, yard foreman for Spindler Co., Manitowoc, died Tuesday night following a cerebral hemorrhage at his home, 1708 Marshall St., Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 9:30 am Friday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc and 10 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church. The Rev. Alfred Pritzl will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Machia was born at Powers, Mich., July 30, 1909, son of the late James and Gertrude Wheeler Machia. He came to Manitowoc in 1922 where January 23, 1942 he married Margaret Kust. He had been employed 12 years by Spindler Co. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of the church and of the Teamsters and Chauffers Union Local 619.
Surviving are his wife, two brothers, Kenneth of Manitowoc and Raymond of Denver; four sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Barton of Chicago, Mrs. Elton Brandt of Milwaukee, Mrs. Lloyd Schoepke of Manitowoc and Mrs. Edward Zaletel of Napa, California.
Friends may call after 3 pm Thursday at the funeral home where the rosary will be recited at 7 pm.
