Gerald M. Markowski, age 69, a former Manitowoc resident, passed away on Dec. 28,
2008, at Hospice of Citrus County in Lecanto, Fla.
He was born on Nov. 24, 1939, in Manitowoc, son of the late Henry A. and Rose T.
(Jurgens) Markowski. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the
class of 1958. On August 31, 1996, he married the former Darlene Hoffman at First Lutheran
Church. She preceded him in death on July 21, 2006. Gerald was a foreman for the Parks
Department with the city of Manitowoc until his retirement in 1995.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at The Pfeffer Funeral
Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. John Aitken. Burial of the
cremated remains will be at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the memorial service
at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care
Center, Manitowoc.
