Funeral service will be held Thursday, 9:30 a.m. at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manitowoc. Presiding the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Roman Zbieranski O.F.M. with burial to follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born August 26, 1903 in West Kewaunee, Wis., daughter of the late Lawrence and Agnes Janowski Ratajczak. She married Walter Matczynski on August 26, 1924 at the St. Hedwig Catholic Church in East Krok, Wis. Mr. Matczynski preceded her in death on December 13, 1961. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Rosary and Altar Society.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Daniel and LaVerne Matczynski of Manitowoc, Robert and Phyllis Matczynski of Manitowoc; a brother, Nick Ratajczak of Manitowoc; a sister, Marie Cherney of Manitowoc; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Luckas Ratajczak and two sisters, Frances Swagel and Victoria Sieracki.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 4 until 9 p.m. where a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. by the Rev. Roman Zbieranski.
