Pauline Miles, 84, of 1307 Marshall Street, Manitowoc, died Friday afternoon, February 28, 1992, at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.
Funeral services will be 930 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Gerald Prusakowski O.F.M. will preside at the Mass of Christian Burial and burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born December 13, 1907, in Carlsville, Door County, Wis., daughter of the late John and Julia Swoboda Alaers. She married Joseph C. Miles on August 29, 1931, at St. Pius Catholic Church, Chicago, Ill.
He preceded her in death October 18, 1990. The couple celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in August of 1981. Mrs. Miles attended Holy Family Nursing School, Manitowoc, Wis. She graduated from Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago, Ill. She actively pursued a nursing career for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Miles owned and operated several taverns in Manitowoc for many years. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Adria Miles of Texas, LeRoy and Bette Miles of Port Edwards, Wis.; a sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Marvin Daubner of Carlsville, Wis.; a brother-in-law and his wife, Ambrose and Lilas Miles of California; a sister-in-law, Mrs. John (Genevieve) Masar of California; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, 4 pm. to 8 p.m. this Monday where a prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. by Father Jerry.
