Joseph F. Miller, Sr., 82, died Saturday afternoon at the home of a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Reindl, Rt. 1, Manitowoc. He had been ill two months.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Alverno. The Rev. D. F. Hurley will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Miller was born March 20, 1881, at Cato Falls, son of the late Wenzel and Margaret Rappel Miller. He married Elizabeth Heinzen Nov. 9, 1908, at St. Joseph Church and the couple farmed in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids until 1942, retiring and moving to Manitowoc. Mrs. Miller died Feb. 4, 1945.
In 1950, Mr. Miller moved to Rt. 4, Manitowoc, to reside with a son, Wilfred, until his recent illness. He was a member of Holy Name Society of St. Joseph Church and a 50-year member of Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Edwin Brandl of Rt. 1, Newton, and Mrs. Clarence Reindl of Rt. 1, Manitowoc; three sons, Arnold and Joseph Jr., of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, and Wilfred of Rt. 4, Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Louis Meyer of Manitowoc; 26 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 o’clock this Monday evening.
