Memorial Mass will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 1995, at St. Mary’s Chapel. Father Tom Wojciechowski will officiate with cremation having taken place. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born December 10, 1912, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Hugo and Catherine Knechtel Belinske. She attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School. She married Leighton Mirkes June 1, 1932, in Manitowoc. The couple resided in Manitowoc all their lives. They were former owners of the Late’s Bar-B-Q, Manitowoc, until retiring in 1967. She was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church, St. Theresa Society of the church, and was a senior citizen.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Dr. David Pfaffenbach, Cleveland, Wis.; three grandchildren, James and Susan DeZeeuw, Appleton, David and DeZeeuw, Milwaukee, Christine DeZeeuw, Green Bay; two great-grandchildren, Laura and Michael, Appleton. She was preceded in death by a son, John, two brothers and a sister.
She was very fond of music and loved to play her organ. She was a loving, caring person, putting others ahead of herself.
Friends may greet the family from 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, until the time of service. There will be no Monday evening visitation at the funeral home. The Jens Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
