Mary Ann J. Mitchell, age 79, of 1602 S. 30th St., Manitowoc, died on Wednesday afternoon, Sept. 10, 2008, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
She was born on Dec. 16, 1928, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late John and Tillie (Revolinski) Korlesky. Mary Ann was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, class of 1945. On
June 17, 1950, she married Joseph P. Mitchell at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Mary Ann began her employment at the Manitowoc Company, but she devoted her life to her family
and music. Mary Ann's passion was teaching piano and organ at her home. She was actively involved as the parish organist for St. Francis of Assisi Parish, who also played for numerous
weddings and funerals throughout the past 50 years. She was the organist of the Young Men's Choir at St. Boniface Catholic Church and an accompanist for the Men's Choir of Holy Innocents
until her retirement in 2006. Mary Ann was an active volunteer of the Holy Family Conservatory for many years. She was a member of the Monday Music Club and also the Daughters of Isabella.

She was preceded in death by a son: James J. Mitchell; two sisters: Genevieve and Marcella; and three brothers: Daniel, Reinhardt and Arnold Stanzel.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 15, 2008, at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen, with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 3 to 6 p.m.
on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008. Prayer services will be held at 5:30 p.m., led by the Daughters of Isabella, and followed by Deacon Ken Nelesen. Friends may also call on Monday morning at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.
