George Mrotek, 71, of 2211 Washington St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday morning at home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. John Landowski officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Mrotek was born June 18, 1892, at Kewaunee, son of the late alter and Mary Mella Mrotek. He came with his family to Manitowoc 66 years ago where he lived most of the rest of his life. He was employed many years at Schmitt Lumbar Co. until his retirement in 1957. He never married. He was a veteran of World War I and served in the Blackhawk Division, 122nd Machine Battalion, and saw action in France and Germany.
Among survivors are two brothers, Leo of Manitowoc and Walter, of Vancouver, Wash., and a sister, Mrs. Charles Schaetzke, of Manitowoc. Six brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Drews-Bleser Post 88 of the American Legion will conduct special graveside rites.
