Elizabeth was the daughter of Joseph P. Brittin and Mary Dittus, both of Pennsylvania.

She first married John H. Shields (they married about 1901.) Shields died in 1909, of tuberculosis.

Elizabeth married Emil Palludan Jr. in June of 1914. In his 1917 WWI registration, he claimed exemption due to an "invalid wife". Elizabeth and Emil did not have any children.

Elizabeth's cause of death is given as chronic myocarditis in her death certificate and burial records. At the time of her death, she had been a resident of Byberry State Hospital for 1 year (according to death certificate).

PALLUDAN. -- Feb. 25, 1944. ELIZABETH E., widow of Emil Palludan (nee Brittin,) of 8122 Elberon av. Relatives and friends invited to funeral, Tues., 1:30 P.M., at J.W. Dean & Son, 7900 Oxford av., Fox Chase, Phila. Int. Lawnview Cem. Friends may call Monday evening.
