John Henry Clemow was born Jan 28, 1865 in Cornwall, England to William H Clemow and Eliza (Yelland) Clemow. He and his family came to the United States in 1879 and settled in Plymouth, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.

John's first wife was Mary Ellen Sage. She was born Sept 6, 1868 and was the only daughter of George Sage (born 1831 in England) and Anna Appleton/Sage/Carter (born 1836 in Wales). They were married in Plymouth, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania on June 25th 1886. Because Mary Ellen was still a minor at the time, her Mother Ann Appleton Sage Carter gave her consent for the marriage to take place. John Henry and Mary Ellen had 2 (of 3) surviving children. Their names were Hamilton Sage Clemow (1886-1945), and Edith Kaletia Clemow/Parsons (1891-1976). In March of 1904, after 18 years of marriage, Mary Ellen and John Henry Clemow were divorced. Mary Ellen remarried (Frederick Edwards) and sadly passed away not even 2 years later on Feb 21, 1906.
John's second wife was Jennie Davis (1874-1911). They were married on Jan 3, 1905 and were unfortunately only married a few years before Jennie passed away on Christmas Eve in 1911.
John's third wife was Charlotte Evans (1885-1948). They were married on Oct 25, 1913 and had 3 (of 5) surviving children. They were Jennie Clemow Chase (1915-2001), Evan John Clemow (1920-1944) and Gloria Clemow Davies (1922-1992). Charlotte passed away on Nov 1, 1948.
John passed away at 4:00 pm on Feb 6, 1961 in Lakewood, Cuyahoga County, Ohio. The cause of death was pneumonia. It was 9 days after his 96th birthday.
