Donald J. Lang, age 85, of 950 S. Rapids Road, was reunited with his wife Marion late on Saturday evening, Aug. 7, 2010, at Riverwood Estates.
Don was born on May 24, 1925, in Manitowoc, son of the late Sylvester and Helen Jagemann Lang. He attended Holy Innocents grade school and Lincoln High School. He enlisted in U.S. Navy prior to graduation. Don served in the Pacific Theater on various escort vessels from 1943 to 1945. On Jan. 18, 1947, Don married Marion Zahorik in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on Dec. 20, 1994. He started his working career at Jagemann Plating. Don then worked for Eastman Mfg. where he held management positions until he purchased his own business, Wisconsin Metal Finishing, in 1980, and remained active in the family business until age 82. In the 1960s, Don was active at Holy Innocents Catholic Church where he coached grade school football programs for many years. He was instrumental in starting the Chief’s youth football program. Don was past commander of a local AMVETS Post. Don liked to travel in his motor home and camp with his family.
