Esther R. McConnell, age 88, formerly of 1213 SW. 16th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday, December 25, 1996, at St. Mary’s Home, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 28, 1996, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Robert Drobka with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
She was born June 26, 1908 in Spruce, Wis,. daughter of the late Frank and Emma Lembcke Rabas. On January 29, 1938, she married Edward J. McConnell, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spruce, Wis. Mr. McConnell was the Manitowoc County Sheriff for two terms in the 1960’s. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1988.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Rita McConnell, Columbia, S.C. Jerome and Jodie McConnell, Two Rivers; one daughter and son-in-law, Rosie and Bruce Musial, Green Bay; eight grandchildren, Shawn, Richard and Sharon McConnell, Michael, Steven and Allison McConnell, Kristin and Mitchell Musial; four great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Edward and Evelyn Rabas, Oconto Falls, Chester Rabas, Shannon, Ill., Lillian Rabas, Lena, Clare McConnell, Ohio; one brother-in-law, Dr. Tom Gibbons, Vallejo, Calif.; nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers and one granddaughter.
