William “Bud” McCulley, age 87, formerly of 1105 Dewey St., Manitowoc, died Monday morning, March 1, 1999, at St. Francis Home, Fond du Lac, Wis.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, 1999, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Camillius Janas O.F.M. with entombment to follow at the Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
William was born on November 20, 1911, in Cato, son of the late Charles and Margaret Brennan McCulley. He married Gertrude A. Pritzl on February 15, 1939, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. William was a mason with Casper Construction, Hamann Construction and Kuehnl Construction Co.’s for many years. He was a member of the International Brick Layers Union serving as president of the Local Chapter. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church where he belonged to the Holy Name Society, was an usher and also was a Boy Scout Tropp Leader for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude McCulley, Fond Du Lac; three sons and daughters-in-law, William C. and Bev McCulley, Plover, James and Marcia McCulley, Fond du Lac, Dennis and Denise McCulley, Racine; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and James Simon, Fond du Lac, Mary and David Welnetz, Oconomowoc; 14 grandchildren, Thomas, Joan, Laura, Brian, Kevin, Shawn, Jason, Colin, William, Michael, Andy, Tim, Tara, Erin; four great-grandchildren, Adam, Eric, Graham, Hope; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Charles and Lenore McCulley, Reedsville, Beatrice McCulley, Manitowoc; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Leona Pritzl, Whitelaw, Jeanette and Earl Sylva, Sacremento, Calif., Delores Ellestad, Valders, Dorothy Gerl, Sturgeon Bay, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ryan and Margaret Wallander; one brother, Bernerd McCulley.
Friends may call at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
