Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, 1996, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Carl Meulemans with entombment to follow at the Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
Chester was born April 11, 1919, in Manitowoc, son of the late Michael and Matilda Weina Michalek. He served as a veteran of the United States Army from June of 1941 until September of 1946. Chester was a two-time recipient of the purple heart. On March 22, 1947, he married the former Mary June Duhame, at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Chester was employed with the Manitowoc Engineering Company for 31 years until his retirement in 1982. He was a member of the Local Machinists 516.
Survivors include his wife, Mary June Michalek; two sisters, Eleanore Cegielski and Christine Zimmer; one sister-in-law, Flora Michalek, all of Manitowoc. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Daniel and one sister, Emily Zimmer.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
