Lyle Wayne Ellenwood, 76, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015. He was born January 14, 1939 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Lyle was a truck driver for Super Value for 22 years. He had many hobbies such as woodworking, collecting, feeding deer, and watching NASCAR. Above all, Lyle’s greatest passion in life was his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Carol; sons, Lyle (Chris) Ellenwood, Jr. and Kevin (Helen) Ellenwood; grandchildren, Emily, Evan, Kane, and Kaci Ellenwood, Ashley Bateman, and Spencer and Brook Croat; great-grandchild, Ivy Wells; mother, Fayrene Ellenwood; sister, Sondra Ridley; uncle, George Wesley Davis; and aunt, Hazel Young.
Lyle was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Joy; father, Willis Ellenwood; sister, Penny Faux; and brother-in-law, Everett Faux.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, April 27, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street in Des Moines. Family will greet friends one hour prior to services.
