Ernest Guy Allegretti, 92, of 524 Shaffer Ave., Ridgway, died peacefully Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at home with his loving family.
Born Feb. 19, 1923 in Ridgway, he was the son of the late Silvio and Josephine Leone Allegretti.
He graduated from Wilcox High School in 1942.
On Oct. 16, 1965, he married Barbara Bomba at St. Leo's Catholic Church, who preceded him in death Aug. 8, 2005.
He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II.
He was a bricklayer/mason by trade. He practiced his craft for over 50 years and taught the trade to many future tradesman including time as an instructor at DuBois School of Trade. Locally he spent many years working with Quattrone Masonry.
He was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed cooking his favorite meals and baking his delicious bread that were enjoyed by many.
He is survived by one son, James E. Allegretti of Etiwanda, Calif.; a daughter, Jean M. Zameroski and her husband John of Ridgway;
and four grandchildren, Dominic, Vincent, Anna and Sara, all of Ridgway.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Guy Allegretti; a sister, Margaret Santo; and seven other siblings that died in infancy.
A Mass of Christian burial for Ernest G. Allegretti will be celebrated Saturday, April 25 at 11 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Vossler, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Leo's Cemetery.
