Warren was born in Saugerties, NY. At age 14, he was certified as a pharmacist apprentice and after serving in the Army Air Force during WW II, graduated from the Albany College of Pharmacy of Union University in Albany, NY. He was subsequently licensed as a registered pharmacist. Mr. Hauck played a vital role in the pharmaceutical industry throughout his career.

He was founder and president of several companies: Hiss Pharmacal Corp., W.E. Hauck, Inc., Diversified Health Care Services, Inc., and Alphagen Laboratories. He also served on the Board of Directors of Reid Provident Laboratories, Inc. and Scrip-Pak, Inc. In addition, he was selected as the only two-term president of the National Pharmaceutical Alliance and was an Honorary Member for Life of its Board of Directors. He was Director and Secretary of Allied Pharmaceutical Group and was a member of the Georgia Pharmaceutical Association, the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists and the Branded Pharmaceutical Association. At the request of the U.S. Department of State, he made several visits to Hungary and Poland to aid in the modernization and privatization of their pharmaceutical industries.

Mr. Hauck was also actively involved in his church and community. He served as President of Holy Name Society at St. Mary's Church, Clinton, NY, a member of the Finance Committee at St. Jude the Apostle Church, Atlanta and President of Parish Council, Finance Committee member and Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas-Aquinas Church, Alpharetta. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was actively involved in the North Fulton Rotary Club, in which he had been Director and Chairman of the International Project Committee.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Elizabeth (Bib) Hauck; eight children, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Hauck, Mr. and Mrs. Steven Hauck, Mr. and Mrs. James Ayers (Barbara), Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Johnson (Shelley), Mrs. Joanne Gillilan, Ms. Maureen Hauck, Mr. and Mrs. James Hauck and Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Hauck; 11 grandchildren, Dennis Hauck, Daniel B. Hauck, Mr. and Mrs. Todd Gibson (Jessica), Daniel R. Hauck, Kristen Hauck, Mr. and Mrs. David Holcombe-Pomerance (Gretchen), Mr. and Mrs. Sean Hol-combe, Adam Johnson, Alix Johnson, Erin Gillilan, Danielle Gillilan; and two great-grandchildren, Ari Holcombe-Pomerance and Julia Gibson.
