Quentin M. Abernathy, 85 of Covington died at 10:40 A.M. Saturday April 25, 2015 at the Waters of Covington. He was born near Covington, IN. January 30, 1930 to the late Oscar and Virgie Belle (Moore) Abernathy. He was a 1948 Graduate of Covington High School. Quentin was married to Belinda Allen on March 30, 1957 at Coopers Chapel Church, she survives. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the New Century Church.
He worked for the L.D. Hegg Lumber Company 19 years before starting his own Abernathy Home Improvement Company in 1972. He was a member of the Melody Squares square dancing club and they used to travel to many area dances.
Survivors include his wife, 3 sons: Mark Abernathy and Brian (Sylvia Cauley) Abernathy of Covington and Kurt (Tina) Abernathy of St. Cloud, FL. And 4 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and a daughter-in-law Susie Abernathy.
Visitation will be Tuesday April 28, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. (EDT) at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, IN. Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 P.M. with Bill Cook officiating.
