Phebe Ann Yerkes was the youngest of the two daughters of Hiram Yerkes (No. 232 in the Chronicle of the Yerkes Family) and Ann Lewis Yerkes. She had six brothers. She is No. 634 in Chronicle of the Yerkes Family by Josiah Granville Leach.

She was a public school teacher and never married. After 1900, she lived with her brother (Martin Van Buren Yerkes - Chronicle of the Yerkes Family No. 630) and his second wife Mariah Watson Yerkes, her widowed sister Sarah (Sally) Yerkes Moore, and Mariah's sister Jane Watson.

She was buried on January 31st. Her will left $3000 to her nephew The Reverend Carroll Yerkes (No.1376 in the Chronicle of the Yerkes Family), $2000 to a female friend and the rest to the Moody Bible Institute.
