Alfred M. Benson, 79 of Port Marco, died Sunday. He came to Marco 21 years ago from Elmhurst, Ill. when he retired from the restaurant business. Since then, he became a well-known fishing guide here. Al was a life member of both the V.F.W. and the B.P.O.E. and a past Commander of the V.F.W.
Survivors include his wife, Marie E. of Marco; two sons, Alfred M. Jr., of Terre Haute, Ind., and Robert D. of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughter, Mr. Lois Milleitner of Thomson, Ill. and Mrs. Carol Neumann of Woodstock, Ill; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Josberger Marco Island funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Services at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with interment to follow in Naples Memorial Gardens.
