Funeral services for Mrs. Sallie Allen, age 70, were held Monday, December 22 at 2:00 o'clock from the Otter Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. A.A. Bonta, assisted by Rev. J.S. Bonta, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Allen, daughter of the late Isaac and Nancy Allen, died at her home near White Rose in Taylor County at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, December 20. She had been in ill health for the past several months. She professed faith in Christ at an early age in life and was a member of the Poplar Grove Methodist Church. She united in marriage to Lewis Allen some 53 years ago. He preceded her in death some years ago. To this union 5 sons and 3 daughters were born. Surviving are Ray, Charlie, and Edward, all of this county; Mrs. Ray Underwood, of Hodgenville, Mrs. Zanie Allen, of Louisville. Besides children, she is survived by 1 brother, Bluford Allen of Hodgenville; also 29 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.The Pallbearers were:Allison Shipp, R.W. Buckner, Bradley Tarter, Benny Smith, Stafford Underwood, Robert Chaney.
