Lola Basham, age 79, surrounded by her family went home to be with the Lord on May 6, 2013. She was born on March 8, 1934 in Ellison, WV to the late Wilburt and Lura Cox. Lola married Carlos Basham on March 25, 1950 and they spent 53 wonderful years together until his passing on April 11, 2003.

Lola was a longtime member of Massillon Baptist Temple, where she and Carlos were active in the Tape and Bus Ministries as well as the Prayer Chain. Lola enjoyed spending time with her family.

Lola is survived by her daughter Glenna Karen (James) Bradshaw; her grandchildren Michelle (Mike) Meyer, Stephanie (Tom) Ochsenfeld, Thomas (Jessica) Basham Jr., Robert (Kelly) Basham, Christie (Mike) Schultz, Melissa Steiner, Stacey (Shawn) O'Brien and Jamie (Honey) Basham; 15 great-grandchildren; her daughters-in-law Wilma Crossan, Marcia Basham, and Rosie Basham.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lola was preceded in death by her sons Thomas Basham, Robert Basham and James "Fred" Basham.

A Funeral Service will be held at the Massillon Baptist Temple on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 11 A.M., Pastor Cecil Thayer, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Burial will be at Brookfield Cemetery. Donations in Lola's memory can be made to the Massillon Christian School.
