GREER Jennie Goldsmith Richardson "Judy" McClimon of Greer, died Sept. 16, 2001, at her home, while being cared for by her family and friends after a recent illness. She was 101.
Born July 1, 1900, in Piedmont, she had lived in Greer for over 60 years. She was a graduate of Anderson College in Anderson and taught music at Montverde Academy in Montverde, Fla. She also had lived and taught kindergarten and music in Duncan.
Always interested in the Arts and a gifted musician, Mrs. McClimon gave private violin and piano lessons and was an active member of Greer Music Club for many years. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, where she sang in the church choir for over 50- years and was a member of Afternoon Circle and Wesley-Davenport Sunday School Class. After her marriage in 1925 to John Shaffer
McClimon, she continued her teaching, was a homemaker, eventually became a cashier and was an employee-trainer for the Bank of Greer (Now BB&T), where she worked side-by-side with her husband for 44 years, the late J.S. McClimon, former president of the Bank of Greer, until their retirement in 1966. Mrs. McClimon remained very active and independent after her retirement and after Mr.
McClimon's death in 1969. Until her recent illness, as she approached her 100th birthday, she continued with her community involvement and her service to Memorial United Methodist Church.

Mrs. McClimon was also preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Noah Tyndall Richardson and Jennie Goldsmith Richardson; two sisters, Miss Barbara Gambrell Richardson and Miss Ellen Woodside Richardson; and two brothers, Noah Tyndall Richardson Jr. and James Warren Richardson.
She is survived by her devoted caregivers; many loving nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-great-niece.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Memorial United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. John Rush.
Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jim Richardson II, John W. Robison Jr., Mike Ruff, Jack Richardson, Edwin McClimon, Tim McClimon, Ken Richardson and Charles Robison.
