2011 May 28 - Grand Rapids - Thomas Edward Afton was born Wednesday 18 Aug 1954 in Grand Rapids to Richard M & Irene (Doxtater) Afton. He married Wanda Saturday 18 Aug 1979 at her sisters home in Cadillac. He drove truck for nearly 40 years. He was a wonderful family man, loved life, barbeques and had a great sense of humor.
Thomas Edward Afton of Tustin died unexpectedly Saturday 28 May 2011 at the age of 56 y 9 m1 0 d at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids. Survivors included his wife; 1 son; 2 adopted daughters; 3 grandchildren; 4 brothers; 4 sisters; special friends; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard 27 Apr 1987 & Irene 16 Sep 1989; and 1 niece, Tracy Wright.
Visitation was 11 am - 1 pm Wednesday 1 Jun 2011 at Mohnke Funeral Home in Big Rapids.
Funeral services were 1 p m Wednesday 1 Jun 2011 at Mohnke Funeral Home.
