Funeral services for Monroe. A. Combs, 80, of Emory will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, at Freedom Church of God with the Rev. Kenneth Ishmael officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Freedom Church of God in Emory.
Interment will follow the services in Deaton Cemetery with Ben ANGLIN, Don HORNER, Welcome WOOD, Donnie M. COMBS, Jimmy WITT, Johnny SPARKS, Glenn ROACH and Johnny NORTHCUTT serving as pallbearers.
Mr. COMBS died Tuesday, June 22, at his residence.
He was born in Hopkins County on Nov. 30, 1919, the son of Richard O. and Leona Bradford Combs. He married Doris SPARKS on Feb. 18, 1939, in Mount Vernon. She survives.
Mr. COMBS was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Baptist faith.
Other survivors include sons, Don A. Combs and David Combs; a brother, Joe Ben COMBS of Rockwall; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mr. COMBS was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia Deloris COMBS in 1941.
