She was born Aug. 21, 1926, in Monongahela, a daughter of the late Petro Pinta and Dominica Venturi Lazzari.
Mrs. Kabay was employed as a nurse's aide at Monongahela Memorial Hospital in New Eagle until its closing.
She then was employed by Monongahela Valley Hospital as a pharmacy technician, retiring with over 30 years of service, and she was a member of St. Anthony's Church in Monongahela.
Survivors include two sons, Peter John Kabay and wife Sabrina of Port St. John, Fla., and Michael Kabay and wife Eileen of Leesburg, Va.; four daughters, Michele O'Brien and husband David of Monongahela, Karen Daugherty and companion Gary Bagay of Carroll Township, Jodi Lignelli and husband Ric of Monongahela, and Sandy Kabay and companion Susan Westwood of the Northside, Pittsburgh; seven grandchildren, Dr. Dene Daugherty, Deric and Lynn-Ann Daugherty, Nicole and Caci Lignelli, and Leah and Levi Hall; one great-granddaughter, Emily-Ann Daugherty; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Kabay, on Dec. 15, 1983; her brother, Reno Zanardelli; and two sisters, Lenora Carcella and Mrs. Kabay's twin, Madeline "Virginia" Hoffman.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the L.M. FRYE FUNERAL HOME INC., 427 West Main St., Monongahela. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Aug. 20, at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church with the Rev. Patrick Barkey as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Donora.
