Born in Robinson, IL on February 10, 1924, she was the daughter of Cleveland Stephenson Anspach and Dolly “Pauline” (Saulsberry) Anspach. On May 14, 1944 she married Mack H. Mason and he preceded her in death on November 5, 2007.
Marcella was a member of the Oblong Township High School class of 1942; a majorette for the drum and bugle corp. at Oblong High School and Eastern Illinois Teachers College. She was a school teacher in the Hunt City area for one year; co-owner with her husband Mack of Mason True Blue Propane, Heating Gas, Anhydrous Ammonia, Oblong, IL and a Furniture Store, Oblong, IL. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church, Oblong, IL. Marcella loved to look at pictures of and talking to her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the many business customer friends that she and Mack had made.
Marcella is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law Michael F. and Sue Mason, Aberdeen, NC, and Milo C. Mason, Annapolis, MD; three daughters and sons-in-law Monalu Mason, Centennial, CO.; Melody and Tom Nelson, Centennial, CO; and Meleah and Nick Olandese, Woodstock, IL.; thirteen grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Marcella in death were her parents; husband Mack Mason; an Aunt Ruth (Anspach) Hall who raised Marcella when her mother died when Marcella was 10 years old.
