Funeral services for James Curtis Crabb, age 73, will be held on Monday, May 3, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Robb Chapel at The Woodlands United Methodist Church with Dr. Mark Lewis and Pastor Rob Renfroe officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, May 2, 2010, from 1:00-4:00, at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas.

James was born July 24, 1936 in Sweeney, Texas to James Mercer and Lottie Belle Crabb and passed away on April 27, 2010 in Fullerton, California due to complications during heart surgery. He was a graduate of Sam Houston State University where he was a member of Kappa Kappa Psi, Kappa Delta Pi, Alpha Chi and the Sam Houston Bearkat Marching Band.

James taught band for twelve years at East Bernard High School, Willis High School and Sealy High School. He was a counselor at Rice High School, Eagle Lake, for two years. He was then promoted to Principal serving at Eagle Lake Middle School, Knox Jr. High in The Woodlands, Wilkerson Intermediate in The Woodlands and Anderson Elementary in Conroe before his retirement in May, 1992.

After retirement, he worked in real estate for six years and worked as a Montgomery County Rehab counselor. His last six years of employment were with Sam Houston State University as a Student Teacher Supervisor.

James was a devoted member of the United Methodist Church for sixty years, and a lifetime member of Texas State Teachers Association.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Marjorie Bridges Crabb of Placentia, California; daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and Jerry Nelson of San Diego, California and Carol and Lee Robison of Yorba Linda, California; grandchildren, Brynn and Michael Nelson and Rob, Lauren, Sarah, Rachel and Katherine Robison; brothers, Joe Crabb and wife Nancy of Humble, Texas, Dal Crabb and wife Charlotte of Manassas, Virginia and Ben Crabb of Houston, Texas; sister, Jimmie Shimek of Houston, Texas; sister-in-law, Frances Hummel; and brother-in-law, Carl Bridges and wife Joyce. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
