Veda Wheat Briley was born September 10, 1927 to Willie W. and Lena May Wheat in Wingate, Texas. She graduated from Wingate High School. Veda declined a college scholarship and instead chose to marry her long-time friend and sweetheart, Linzie Clyde 'L.C.' Briley on August 12, 1944. They moved to Midland, Texas where she spent many years as a wife and mother. She was active in her church and in serving the Lord.
Three sons, Londale, Ronald and Bryan were born to this marriage.
Veda died on September 16, 2001 and she was buried in Resthaven Memorial Park, Midland, Texas. Grand sons were pall bearers at her funeral service.
