Joan Norrish Perrey, age 79, died June 8, 2006 at Resurrection Nursing Home, Castleton under the loving and healing care of the Resurrection staff and Community Hospice of Rensselaer County. Born Jean Hardy to the late Austin K. Hardy and Muriel Judge Hardy, she resided in the Albany area throughout her life. Mrs. Perrey worked as a legal secretary in private practice and for OGS. She was an organizer of the Legal Secretaries Association and Cerebral Palsy Telethons of the 60s. She was married to William Perrey until his death in 1994. She participated with Troy Toastmasters in recent years. She was best known, however, as a wonderful and gracious hostess, friend and lover of life. She is survived by her daughter, Judith A. Norrish, Esq. of Troy. Also mourning her loss are sisters, Pauline Lubin of Clifton Park and Frances Koryn of Castleton; and brother, Austin Bud Hardy of Lantana, Fla. Nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, cherished friends and former husband Winfield Norrish also survive. Funeral services Tuesday 9 a.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 N. Allen Street, Albany and thence to Sacred Heart Church, Castleton at 10 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Monday 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow the Mass in Schodack Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Literacy Volunteers of Rensselaer County, 1913 Fifth Avenue, Troy or to a charity of one's choice in memory of Mrs. Perrey.
