Van A. House lost his life at sea alone with 80 other man serving in WWII. The USS Wahoo (SS-238) was loss at sea on Oct 11, 1943 in La Perouse Strait, Northern Japan. They were sucked by air attack & depth charging. They found the sunken submarine on July 29, 2006 in 213 feet of water. The US Navy held a ceremony-at-sea on July 8, 2007. USS Wahoo was one of the greatest fighting submarine in the history of the US Navy. The USS Wahoo will not be salvaged nor any remains of the crew be recovered.
