Douglas Kent Chambers, 51, of Independence, Kansas passed away Monday, July 26, 2004 at Mercy Hospital in Independence, Kansas.
Douglas was born December 15, 1952 to Everett E. and Eleanor G. Douglas-Chambers in Neodesha, Kansas. He was raised in Neodesha where he attended schools.
Doug married Fawn Berckefeldt-Stotler on April 4, 1996 in Miami, Oklahoma.
Doug owned and operated Doug's Body Shop in Independence, Kansas. He also was a professional musician performing and touring throughout the Midwest.
Douglas is survived by his wife, Fawn Chambers of Independence, Kansas; one son, James Chambers of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two daughters, Courtney Chambers of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Tamara Williams of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; one step son, Jerry Tempelmeyer of Norfolk, Virginia; one step daughter, Amanda Tipton of Olathe, Kansas; one brother, Norman Chambers of Independence, Kansas; one sister, Kathryn Williams of Overland Park, Kansas and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary.
Visitation hours for Douglas will be Thursday, July 29, 2004 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family greeting friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas.
Funeral services for Douglas K. Chambers will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 30, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church, 200 S. Penn, Independence, Kansas with Reverend Edgar Wegener officiating.
Burial will follow at the Altoona Cemetery, Altoona, Kansas.
