Richard Lynn Brown was born September 15, 1955 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, the son of James Lee Brown and Marjorie Etta (Caldwell). He attended school in Independence, Kansas and in the state of Washington.
He worked various jobs, working in a machine shop as a lathe operator for several years until ill health forced his retirement. He returned to Independence about 7 years ago.
My daughter helped care for him when he moved to the nursing home.
Survivors include: a daughter, Amanda Brown of Seattle, Washington; a sister, Sharon Winebrenner of Independence; and a brother, Donald Brown of Independence.
Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Webb & Rodrick Chapel of Independence.
