Phyllis Pauline Veatch, 79, of Glenwood, MO, died Sunday (Nov. 9, 1997) in Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.
The daughter of Charles and Eva Morris White, she was born Jan. 2, 1918, near Glenwood. On April 20, 1935, she married Nova Ellis Veatch, who preceded her in death.
For most of their married life, she and her husband farmed in Schuyler County, except for 15 years of living in Muscatine, Iowa. They returned to Glenwood in 1970. After the death of her husband, she moved to Lancaster, MO, to the home of her daughter, Betty.
She is survived by two daughters, Betty Fifer of Lancaster and Karen Long of Wilton, Iowa; one son, Charles Veatch of Queen City, MO; one sister, Edith Shively of Glenwood; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, one brother, one sister, her parents, and one grandson.
Funeral services were scheduled for 2 p.m. today (Nov. 12, 1997) at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, with burial in the Glenwood City Cemetery.
