A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iota for Jenny Lenore “Miss Jenny” LeJeune, 63, who died Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 5:05 a.m. in Iota.

Jenny was the youngest child of Rufus and Marie LeJeune. She was born on Nov. 13, 1951, and was the pride and joy of her siblings, Kenneth, Janet and Janice. She lived in Iota all her life, graduated from Iota High School, and furthered her education at McNeese State University, where she earned a degree in education.

In her desire to improve the lives of the young people in her community she taught hundreds of children the skills and benefits of reading. She retired after a 33 year career in education.

Jenny enjoyed spending her years of retirement, traveling, spending time with her family, college friends and her special high school friends, affectionately known as “The Queens”. Even in Jenny’s time of suffering she still had her keen sense of humor. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends especially her siblings, and nieces and nephews.

In the interest of Jenny’s desire to improve the education of the children of our community the family requests all memorial donations in her name be made to St. Francis School in Iota.

Fr. Jude Thierry, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Monday from 3:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. A rosary will be recited Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Miss Jenny is survived by two sisters, Janet Reed and her husband Norman of Iota, Janice Reed and her husband Lowell of Iota; one brother, Kenneth LeJeune and his wife Peggy of Lake Charles; nine nieces and nephews, Burney Bobbett, Greg Bobbett, Colleen Bobbett Kelly, Wendell Bobbett, Sandra Reed Richard, Connie Reed Trahan, Bradley Reed, Melanie LeJeune Bowles, Christie LeJeune Remy and Brandon LeJeune.

Pallbearers will be Greg Bobbett, Wendell Bobbett, Brennan Bobbett, Bradley Reed, Tim Kelly, and Brandon LeJeune. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Phillip Fabacher and Vince Trahan.
