Mrs. Jacob H. Burley

Teresa S. Burley, 86, formerly of 1717 Sixth St., died Sunday
after a brief illness.

She was born Nov. 11, 1889, in Washington, D.C., and had been an area resident since 1913.

She married Jacob H. Burley, M.D., who died Aug. 14, 1949.

She was a graduate of George Washington University School of Nursing,
Washington, D.C.. She was a member of the St. Clair County Registered Nurses' Association and had been active in private duty nursing for more than 30 years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church almost 60 years; she was a past regent of Ottawa Chapter, D.A.R.; a member of the Mayflower Society and direct descendant of William Bradford, second governor of Plymouth Colony.

Survived by a stepdaughter, Mrs. Wilbur W. West, Port Huron; a stepson , R. Dexter Burlev. Fort Lauderdale . Fla.; a brother, LaFone Starkweather, Washington, D.C.; a sister-in-law, Mrs.David H. Burley, Almont; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services held in the Arthur Smith Funeral Home-North Chapel. The Rev. Ronald J. Deegan of First Baptist Church will officiated.
