ROGER CLINTON KOENIG

Roger Clinton Koenig, age 52, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2000, after a long and courageous battle with Multiple Scleroses.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2000, at the Gunderson Funeral Home, 5203 Monona Dr. with the Rev. Kenneth Gast presiding. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, where Military Rites will be conducted by the Madison Area Veteran's Council.
He was born on September 17, 1947, the son of Hugo and Alice Koenig. Roger attend Gillette Elementary School, and graduated from Washington High School, Two Rivers, in 1965. After graduation, Roger was employed by Mirro Aluminum Company in Manitowoc. In 1967, he enlisted in the United States Army, stationed in San Antonio, Texas, serving in Vietnam until 1969. He married Patricia Helen LaFond, on October 29, 1969, and they moved to Atlanta, Ga. to complete his term with the military. Roger and Patricia returned to Wisconsin in 1971 and he attended UW-Madison, graduating in 1974 with a degree in Medical Technology. He completed his internship with the Jackson Clinic, Madison and accepted a position as Medical Technologist with the clinic, continuing to work there until his retirement in 1986.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia H. Koenig; his son, Jason Alan Koenig, Madison; a brother, Douglas Koenig; a sister, Fay MacArthur; God parents, Irene and Ed Fredrick, all of Gillett (sic); two aunts and one uncle, Beatrice Kostuch, Milwaukee, Roger (Anna Mae) Olson, Two Rivers. Pat's sisters and brother, Kathleen LaFond (Al Rogne), Two Rivers; Suzanne LaFond, Madison, Rita LaFond Repinski, Mishicot, Andre (Kristine Houman) LaFond, Two Rivers; Mary LaFond (Tom Stueck), Two Rivers; Pat's nieces and nephews, Nicholas and Kimberly Rogne, Jeremiah and Lindsey Repinski, and Jennifer and Jeffrey LaFond. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call on Saturday morning at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Roger's family would like to thank Jeff Blum, Patty Paabe, Marcus Maier, the staff at Belmont Center, Dr. Robert Alt and physician's assistant, Patty for all of their support.
