Virginia Marie Cox, 83, of New Castle passed away Tuesday May 5,2015 at Heritage House in New Castle.
She was born Dec. 17,1931 in Greenfield, IN to the late Orville and Opal Bright. She was a homemaker and married to the late Herbert W. Cox, whom she married in Wayne Co., IN on July 31,1952.
Survivors include her son Steven M. (Theresa) Cox of Nashville, TN; 3 grandchildren, Steven M. Cox Jr., Tara (husband Joseph) Cathey, Christopher (wife Ashley) Cox; 4 great-grandchildren Preston Cox, Joseph Cathey, Kennedy Rose Cathey and Jack Christopher Cox. Brother Bill (wife Shirley) Bright of New Castle, Sisters Juanita Hammond of New Castle and Wanda Garmon of New Castle. Nieces and nephews, Joe Bright, Billy Bright, Brad Hammond, Penny McLaren, Marie Cox, Annette Hammond, Harold Garmon, Michael Garmon, Rex Garmon and David Garmon and Pamela Cox. Brother and sister-in-laws: Phil (wife Mary) Cox; aunt Evelyn Jeffries.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband Herbert W. Cox, brother Gerald Bright.
Services will be Thursday May 7,2015 at 2 p.m. at Marcum Community Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Daffron officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 12-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
