Anthony Kirk Matocha of Red Rock, TX, went to his heavenly home July 25, 2004. Anthony was born December 31, 1977, in Houston, TX. He was a 1996 Graduate of Bastrop High School where he participated in football, baseball, student council and FFA, He continued his education at Texas A&M, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. At A&M he participated in Fish Drill Team, The Corps of Cadets, and Rugby. Anthony had a great love for life and lived each day to the fullest. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and when not spending time with family and friends was on the water or in the woods doing the things he loved. Anthony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Celestine Matocha and brother, Glen Matocha. He is survived by the loves of his life, his parents; Dena and Michael Matocha of Red Rock, TX; brothers, Gary and wife, C.J. Matocha of Driftwood, TX, and Mark Matocha of Port Aransas, TX; grandparents, Eva and Cecil Friske of Rockne, TX; and numerous aunts, uncles, niece, nephews and cousins. A rosary will be recited at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be celebrated, Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow the mass in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Rockne, TX. Pallbearers: Kris Klaus, Jason Fohn, Jason Frerich, Jason Acezedo, Brian Klaus, Jeff Klaus, Greg Reidy, John Bartsch and Steve Higgs. Funeral arrangements are handled by Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral. Home, Bastrop, TX. ''Holy St. Anthony, reach down from heaven and take of my hand.'
