Patrick J. Ryan Died in St. Paul
President of Milk Company, Born on Farm Now Part of City
Patrick J. Ryan, 69, president and treasurer of the St. Paul Milk Co. for nearly 19 years, died Wednesday night in St. Joseph's hospital after an illness of three weeks.
The son of pioneer settlers, Mr. Ryan was born in St. Paul on a farm on what is now Highland Park, but was then Reserve Township. After working several years for a manufacturing and construction concerns, Mr. Ryan entered the general contracting business for himself, continuing in it until 1915.
Then he formed the St. Paul Milk Co. with two brothers-in-law, P.J. and J.D. Keough and Peter A. Hanson. At that time the company operated 21 routes, where it now operates 80 routes and employs 151 persons as one of the major milk distributors in the Twin Cities.
Mr. Ryan is survived by his widow, Mary; three daughters, Bernice, Mary, and Anne, and three sons, Richard, Emmett and Harry Ryan all of St. Paul.

Funeral services for Patrick J. Ryan, 69, president and treasurer of the St .Paul Milk Company for 19 years, a firm he assisted forming, will be held Saturday at St. Luke's Catholic Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Born in St. Paul, the son of pioneer settlers, Mr. Ryan organized the St. Paul Milk Company in 1915 with two brothers-in-law, P.J. and J.D. Keough, and Peter A. Hanson. He is survived by the widow, Mary; three daughters, Bernice, Mary and Anne, and three sons, Richard, Emmett and Harry, all of St. Paul.
