Walter D. Sunday, 79, of Hoover Road, Carlisle, died Monday, March 14, 2005, at the Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Born on June 11, 1925, in Carlisle, he was the son of the late Wilbert and Margaret Brubaker Sunday.
He was a graduate of Carlisle High School in 1943 and a graduate of Dickinson College with a bachelor's degree in mathematics in 1950. He was a retired engineering technician at the U.S. Navy Depot, Mechanicsburg. He was a Seabee in the U.S. Navy, serving in WWII. He was a member of Middlesex United Methodist Church, Carlisle. He loved gardening and his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Gwen Reeder Sunday; a daughter, Deborah A. Mills, Allentown; two sons, Doug and Darrell Sunday, both of Allentown; a sister, Diane Beam, Carlisle; and four grandchildren, Daniel, Joshua, Rachel and Hannah Sunday.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hoffman Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle. Burial will be in the Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. There will be a viewing from 1 p.m. until the time of the service, Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Middlesex United Methodist Church, 118 N. Middlesex, Carlisle, PA 17013.
