Cecil Colbert Hylton age 87 husband of Betty Flannery Hylton died Sunday April 8, 2007 at his home. Cecil was a retired ammunition inspector for the Bluegrass Army Depot, and a US Army Veteran of WWII. He was also a long time member of the Berea Fire Department, Madison County EMS and the Berea Volunteer Fire Department. Cecil has taught many CPR classes over the years for the local Red Cross, and was a volunteer with the local Boy Scouts in Berea. He was also a 50 plus year member of the Berea Masonic Lodge #617 F and AM and the Olieka Shrine in Lexington.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents Clark and Julia Blair Hylton, and several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife Betty Flannery Hylton of Berea. Four children: James Hylton, Judy (Roger) Dean, Kenny (Debbie) Hylton, and George (Kandi) Hylton. Two sisters Myrtle Mason and Pauline (Curt) Pigg. Special family friend Sharleen Davis and nine grandchildren: Charly Hylton of Southport, NC. Gina Rash of Houston, TX. Johnnie Hylton of Richmond, Carlos Dean of Batavia, IL. Emily Minix of Owensboro, KY. Brad Hylton, Jill Hylton, Danny Sell and Eli Hylton all of Berea.
Memorial services for Cecil will be Friday April 13, 2007 at the Westside Baptist Church. Burial in the Porter-Hylton Cemetery.
