Mrs. Jackie Oliver Alexander of Henderson was born to the union of the late Jack and Sarah Daniels Oliver. She attended public schools in Henderson where she was a lifelong resident. Early in life she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. Until the time of her home going she was a dedicated servant of God at Bethel Temple of Longview.

Jackie Oliver was united in holy matrimony to the late James L. Alexander for 42 years. To that union they were blessed with eight children, two of which preceded them in death: Gerald Alexander and Michael Oliver. One stepson, Winston Alexander, also preceded them in death, as well as two brothers, C. L. (Bubba) Oliver and Claudie Oliver.

Exceedingly generous with her love and energy, Mrs. Alexander was known as a caretaker, community leader, the first Afro-American manager of local retail store Winnie Lee’s, an owner/operator of Alexander’s Beauty Salon and a faithful servant in numerous ministries within her church for many years.
