DAVID ANDREWS

TUPELO – David Frank Andrews, 84, died Friday, May 8, 2015, at Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. David was born on January 25, 1931, in Houlka to Willie Frank and Myrtice Cook Andrews.

He grew up in Houlka, graduated from Houlka High School and Mississippi State University where he received his B.S. in Business. He was married to Carolyn Denton on May 30, l952, and they made their home in Tupelo since l954. David worked over 30 years for Borden Ice Cream, retiring as office manager. He was a longtime faithful member of the Wesley United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Sunday School Class. David was a gentle man who enjoyed the fellowship of his church and being a member of the Exchange Club of Tupelo, including being designated with the Book of Golden Deeds Award. He was an avid Mississippi State sports fan, especially football and basketball, but the great love of his life was his wife, his children and grandchildren, especially seeing that they all achieved a college education.

A private family graveside service will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from noon-service time Monday, all at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland.
